§ Dr. SummerskillTotal imports of food and feeding stuffs into the United Kingdom in the calendar year 1938, as recorded in the published annual statement of trade of the U.K., amounted to 23 million tons. I regret it is not possible to say precisely how much of this total was used for human consumption.
