HC Deb 05 March 1946 vol 420 c156
8. Sir W. Smithers

asked the Minister of Works if he will arrange for the pantry in the Members' smoking room to be altered or moved so that those who have to work there can do so under better conditions.

Mr. Tomlinson

I will consult with the Kitchen Committee and the authorities of the House about possible improvements in this accommodation.

Sir W. Smithers

Is the Minister aware that the heat and cramped space make conditions of work there almost unbearable?

Mr. Gallacher

Would not the Minister arrange to have the Members'smoking room moved outside the precincts of Westminster?
