§ 51. Mr. G. Jegerasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether Whitley Councils exist and function for the British Civilian Military Government staff in the employ of the Control Com mission for Germany.
§ Mr. J. HyndThis matter has not been overlooked, and I am arranging for an early examination of the best method of introducing Whitley machinery into our administration.
§ 52. Mr. G. Jegerasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether it can now be arranged for British Civilian Military Government staffs in the British zone to purchase clothing in the officers' shops.
§ Mr. J. HyndOwing to the shortage of supplies available for serving officers it is not practicable for civilians to make use of officers' shops. I am arranging for special shops to be opened in the ń ear future to meet the somewhat different needs of our civilian staffs. I hope that the first of these shops will open in Germany next month. They will be available to civilians of all ranks.
