HC Deb 05 June 1946 vol 423 c1976
13. Mr. Malcolm MacMillan

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether he will arrange sales of movable Air Ministry property at his Department's sites at Ness, Uig and Broad Bay, Isle of Lewis, in view of local shortages and of the willingness of the local people to purchase them, and the losses and damage now being caused by neglect, weather exposure, and damage by children and by livestock.

Mr. de Freitas

We have asked the Ministry of Works to arrange as soon as possible for an auction of all our surplus domestic stores on the Isle of Lewis. They are at present stored in one place where they should keep in proper order until they are sold.

Mr. MacMillan

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that his answer will give very great satisfaction?
