HC Deb 04 June 1946 vol 423 c1788
11. Major Mott-Radelyffe

asked the Minister of Works what steps he is taking to make available some supplies of glass for picture framers and other art dealers who depend for their livelihood upon adequate supplies of glass.

Mr. Tomlinson

Although most of the capacity of the industry has had to be concentrated upon the production of glass for housing and other priority requirements, there is a limited quantity of glass available for other uses including picture framing. It is also possible to obtain imports from abroad at a rather higher price.
