asked the President of the Board of Trade what are the present average prices of the four principal raw materials imported from the U.S.A. into the United Kingdom; what were the corresponding prices in 1938; and what is the difference in percentage in these prices.

Mr. Belcher

As the answer includes a number of figures I will, with the hon. Member's permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Following are the figures:

port, certain of our publishers are having to send their manuscripts to America, where they are printed and sent to our own Dominions? Would it not be more practicable to do this work here?

It would be, if the supplies of paper were available, but they are not.

Mr. Bossom

Do not the figures, which the Parliamentary Secretary has given, show that there is enough paper, and that he is not using it for the right purposes?
