HC Deb 30 July 1946 vol 426 cc761-2
19. Mr. John Morrison

asked the Minister of Labour why a manufacturer must complete eight copies of the monthly return of employment; and if he will cause this number to be reduced in order to save work and paper.

Mr. Ness Edwards

Eight copies of certain of these returns have in the past been asked for because they were needed for use by the headquarters and regional staffs of a number of Government departments. The reduction in employment on the manufacture of equipment and supplies for the Forces has made it possible to reduce the number of copies to four, beginning with the August returns.
