HC Deb 30 July 1946 vol 426 c751
The Chairman of Ways and Means (Major Milner)

I beg to move, That the Proceedings of the House [26th July] on Consideration of Lords Amendments be null and void. On Wednesday last the agents for the Long Eaton Urban District Council Bill gave notice that they intended to propose an Amendment on Consideration of the Lords Amendments to that Bill. On Friday, therefore, you, Mr. Speaker, put the Question, "That the Lords Amendments, as amended, be agreed to." We subsequently observed that the Amendment proposed by the agent was, in fact, a consequential Amendment to the Bill and not to the Lords Amendments. That being so, it is necessary to correct a technical error, and under those circumstances I am moving this Motion.

Question put, and agreed to.

Lords Amendments considered forthwith, and agreed to.

A consequential Amendment made to the Bill.
