HC Deb 30 July 1946 vol 426 cc781-2
43. Mr. Piratin

asked the Secretary of State for War in what districts of England or Wales it is proposed to provide facilities for the housing and training of members of the Polish Armed Forces brought to this country who are unwilling to return to their homeland; and what type of accommodation will be provided.

Mr. Lawson

As soon as possible after their arrival in this country, the Poles in question are to be enrolled in the Polish Resettlement Corps and receive non-military training of a general and pre-vocational nature. For this purpose they will at first be housed in existing military accommodation wherever it can best be made available. These forces will therefore be widely dispersed in very many localities throughout England and Wales. as well as in Scotland.
