HC Deb 17 July 1946 vol 425 c1213
43. Wing-Commander Roland Robinson

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Aviation whether, in the interests of British prestige in the air and of the Bermuda tourist trade, he will take steps to secure the continuance of the dollar-earning air service of B.O.A.C., between Bermuda and the U.S.A., instead of allowing the service to be discontinued in the autumn.

Mr. Ivor Thomas

My noble Friend is in consultation with the British Overseas Airways Corporation with regard to the continuance of the Corporation's flying-boat service between Bermuda and Baltimore.

Wing-Commander Robinson

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say when he will have a decision on this matter?

Mr. Thomas

I hope before the Recess; perhaps the hon. and gallant Gentleman will put down a Question. It is our earnest desire to see this service continued.
