HC Deb 16 July 1946 vol 425 c1031
28. Mr. Garry Allighan

asked the Minister of Works whether he is aware that his Department is sending mobile building workers into districts where there is unemployed building labour already available; and whether he will see that consultation takes, place between his officials and the local unemployment exchanges to prevent this.

Mr. Tomlinson

Members of the mobile labour force are not ordinarily sent to undertake work for which suitable unemployed men are locally available, and there is a regular arrangement for consultation with the Employment Exchanges. If my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind I shall be glad to look into it.
