Mr. Austinasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the fact that at present no special qualifications are required for magistrates functioning at juvenile courts, he will arrange for the future a satisfactory training scheme for such magistrates, in view of the importance of this work.
§ Mr. EdeOne of the terms of reference of the Royal Commission on Justices of the Peace is to consider and report whether any alteration is desirable in the law or practice as to the selection and appointment of justices of the peace to form panels for juvenile courts, and I should prefer to await their report.
