§ 68. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Food if he is aware that many hotels and restaurants return to his food offices figures of meals eaten which are not always correct; and whether, to overcome this, he will make it compulsory for bills to be issued to customers for all main meals served.
§ Mr. StracheyThe inspections of catering establishments that already take place, together with the Order requiring them to keep accurate records of meals served, are our effective instruments for preventing abuses of this kind. But I will certainly look into the question of enforcement again.
