HC Deb 09 July 1946 vol 425 cc224-5
14. Mr. Hurd

asked the Secretary of State for War the food rations allowed to German prisoners of war working on farms, as compared with the rations allowed to British farm workers and Army personnel at home stations.

Mr. Lawson

As the reply is necessarily rather long, I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

Mr. Hurd

Will the Minister take steps to give the facts the widest possible publicity since there is a great deal of dissatis faction, particularly in the agricultural areas, and a knowledge of the facts would he most helpful?

Mr. Lawson

I am sure the facts could not be given a wider circulation than will be obtained through the OFFICIAL REPORT. This is particularly so in view of the nature of the Question and the figures requested by the hon. Member. I am sure the Press will take note of the facts and figures set forth.
