§ 30. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport if he will give details as to the amount of up-to-date road-making equip- 6 ment, bulldozers and other such machinery, which has been made available for improving the highways of this country, after being designated as surplus to military requirements; and to what extent this machinery is being used by his Department and other highway authorities, respectively.
§ Mr. BarnesI have no information as to the road-making equipment designated as surplus to military requirements which has been made available to highway authorities, but in addition to a substantial amount of other equipment, my Department has obtained for use in connection with Trunk Roads the following heavy plant: 23 Crawler Tractors; 14 Excavators; seven Asphalt Spreading Machines.
