§ 46. Sir R. Glynasked the Prime Minister whether he will reconsider the holding of victory parades throughout the country on the date proposed in view of the economic position and shortage of coal, especially affecting transport, and postpone such celebrations until after final peace negotiations have been completed and more stable conditions obtain.
§ The Prime MinisterThe considerations to which the hon. and gallant Member refers were given full weight when the matter was under review. I believe that the decision which we reached commends itself to the people as much as it did to my colleagues and myself.
