asked the Minister of Education whether she is now prepared to make a statement with respect to the position of the Royal Society of Teachers, in relation to the future of professional registration.

I have received a direct communication from the Royal Society of Teachers regarding the future of the Society, which is now under my consideration. I am arranging for a deputation from this body to be received at the Ministry

Mr. Skinnard

Will the Minister bear in mind that if the status of the teaching profession is to be raised so as to make it attractive to new students, a responsible governing body, such as the Royal Society, is essential?
