HC Deb 28 February 1946 vol 419 c2081
13. Mr. Touche

asked the Minister of National Insurance if he will now make a statement as to his consultations with the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health for Scotland, regarding the question of compensation, under the Industrial Injuries Bill, of nurses who contract tuberculosis as a result of contact with infected persons.

Mr. J. Griffiths

I cannot at present add to what I said on this subject in the course of the Debate on the Third Reading of the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Bill, on 22nd February, and in my recent letter to the hon. Member.

Mr. Touche

Is a decision likely to be reached before the Bill is passed?

Mr. Griffiths

The Bill has had its Third Reading, and I will expedite consideration of this very important matter.
