§ 44. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the fact that copper sheet and strip are as good as lead for such parts as flashings, weatherings and damp-proof courses in building, and are currently only about half the price of lead which unlike copper is in short supply, he will, in the interests of quicker and cheaper building, take appropriate steps for encouraging the adoption of copper in building.
§ Mr. BevanYes, Sir. I have already issued one instruction on this subject, of which I am sending my hon. Friend a copy, and further instructions will be issued shortly.
§ Mr. JannerWill the right hon. Gentleman represent to the Minister of Labour the necessity for giving adequate training in working with copper at the appropriate Ministry of Labour training centres?
§ Mr. BevanI will bring the hon. Gentleman's suggestion to the attention of the Minister of Labour.
