HC Deb 27 February 1946 vol 419 c1904
26. Major Younger

asked the Under secretary of State for Air whether he is aware of the water shortage at the R.A.F. Station, Halton, Buckinghamshire, which has lasted since December; and what step have been taken to remedy it.

Mr. Strachey

Yes, Sir. The difficulty is that there is a general shortage of water in this part of the country after last year's dry autumn. We have therefore had to limit the supply for members of the Royal Air Force at Halton. I understand that a new supply of water is being arranged for the neighbourhood which should bring the shortage at Halton to an end, but I am afraid that the works will not be completed before the end of the year at the earliest.
