HC Deb 26 February 1946 vol 419 cc1725-6
21. Mr. Norman Bower

asked the Minister of Works whether he will raise the seats in the Victoria Tower Garden so that they may command a view of the river.

Mr. Tomlinson

I sympathise with the object in view and will see whether any thing can be done. The suggestion, however, may not be practicable, and, in any case, there are many works of restoration in the Royal Parks which should have priority.

Mr. Keeling

As a great many visitors to the Palace of Westminster seek fresh air in this charming Garden where at present they have a view only of a brick wall, would the right hon. Gentleman see if something could be done, perhaps, by this summer?

Mr. Tomlinson

Probably later on.

Mr. Gallagher

Knock down the wall.
