§ 30 and 31. Mr. John McKayasked the First Lord of the Admiralty (1) if he is aware. that. P/MX63438 S.B.P.O. F. G. R. Cross served overseas at Malta from January, 1941, to December, 1942; and will he, therefore, be granted special overseas leave for this period;
(2) if he is aware that P/MX63438 S.B.P.O. F. G. R. Cross, Class A release, overseas at Malta from January, 1941, to December, 1942, has written twice during January of this year to G.P.O. Box 120, Chelsea, London, S.W.3, asking for a form on which to make his claim for special overseas leave for the above period and has had no reply; will he instruct the above office to send the form to F. G. R. Cross; and why Mrs. Cross has been notified that her allotment and marriage allowance will finish on 31st January, when her husband's leave did not expire until 6th February.
§ Mr. AlexanderA form of application for overseas leave claim was sent to 1139 Mr. Cross on 11th February, in response to a request dated 6th January. Owing to the enormous number of similar requests received by the small staff available to deal with them, I am afraid that some delay is unavoidable, but the claims will be dealt with as quickly as possible. Payment of allotment and marriage allowance is made in advance. The payment made to Mrs. Cross on 31st January, therefore, covers the period up to 6th February.
