HC Deb 20 February 1946 vol 419 c1125
9. Major Wilkes

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in view of the fact that not a single member of officer status from the security battalions or from the Quisling security services has, as yet, been executed in Greece, whether he will make representations to the Greek Government regarding the proposed execution of three E.L.A.S. partisans, Bourdis, Avgheris and Monedas.

Mr. Bevin

I understand that the three persons in question recently appealed for release under the recent legislation concerning the de-congestion of prisons. If the courts rule that they were not principals to murder in the first degree, their appeals will be sustained and they will be released immediately. As this question is still sub judice, no question of intervention by His Majesty's Government arises.
