asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is now in a position to announce the name of the trade union leader who has been invited to be a member of the National Investment Council.

Yes, Sir. In have invited Mr. George Gibson, an ex-Chairman of the General Council of the T.U.C., General Secretary of the Confederation of Health Service Employees and Vice-Chairman of the National Savings Committee, to join the Council, and I am glad to say that he has accepted my invitation.
