Mr. Spearmanasked the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to deal with coast erosion throughout the country, which in many parts is causing a serious loss of houses; and if he is aware that at Robin Hood's Bay, Yorkshire, part of one house fell into the sea last week and many others are in danger unless immediate action is taken.
§ Mr. BevanThe Government hope to be in a position to make a statement on coast erosion policy immediately after the Recess. I am aware of the unfortunate situation at Robin Hood's Bay where, I am advised, measures for safeguarding the houses in immediate danger are not likely to prove practicable.
