§ 84. Sir G. Foxasked the Minister of Transport when it is proposed to build the substitute road in place of the Caversfield—Launton Road, in order to relieve the inconvenience to people living in the district through the closing of this road.
§ Mr. BarnesIt has not yet been decided whether it will be necessary to apply for a permanent closure of this road, and the question of the provision of a substitute road does not, therefore, at present arise. Although the road is legally closed by an Order under Regulation 16 of the Defence (General) Regulations, 1939, traffic is allowed freely to use it and no inconvenience is suffered.
§ Sir G. FoxHave not the Air Ministry decided that they want this road closed?
§ Mr. BarnesYes, but the matter is still being reviewed.
