HC Deb 12 December 1946 vol 431 cc1331-2
50. Mr. Keeling

asked the Prime Minister if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the opinion of the Royal Fine Art Commission on the proposed Roosevelt Memorial.

The Prime Minister

Yes, Sir

Mr. Driberg

Can my right hon. Friend say, when he referred on a previous occasion to general approval of the memorial, if he meant to imply that there was no particular approval of the actual figure?

The Prime Minister

I understand that the statue and everything concerned with it were submitted to the Royal Fine Art Commission, and they approved it.
