HC Deb 12 December 1946 vol 431 c1332
51. Mr. Enroll

asked the Minister of Labour, in view of the extended public inerest in the British film-making industry fostered by the publicity given to its future expansion in recent months, what steps have been taken to normalise the entry arrangements to this industry and ensure adequate training facilities, so as to provide a constant flow of technicians and creative workers to develop the industry, so that it is in a position to compete with the U.S.A. on equal terms

The Minister of Labour (Mr. Isaacs)

The Industry recognises the urgent need for systematising its recruiting and training methods for young entrants and with that end in view is taking steps to set up a National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Council.
