Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he has considered the memorial, dated 19th October, 1945, submitted to his predecessor by members of the clerical establishment of the Trinidad Government Railway, with regard to their pension disabilities under the provident fund scheme; and how soon he expects to be able to reply to this memorial.
§ The Secretary of State for the Colonies (Mr. Creech Jones)Yes, Sir. As the matters raised in the memorial may be affected by the recommendations of a committee now considering the part to be played by the railway in the future transport system of the Colony, I am unable to reach a final conclusion upon them until I have the report of that committee. I have asked the Governor to inform the petitioners in that sense.
