Major Mott-Radclyffeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether all grades of the Foreign Service are eligible for the travelling allowances, amounting to one half of the journey expenses each way while proceeding from a post overseas to the United Kingdom on leave, provided they have completed the qualifying period of residence abroad.
