§ 1. Sir William Darlingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland which communities in Scotland with a population of over 500 have no piped supply of water for domestic purposes.
§ The Secretary of State for Scotland (Mr. Westwood)I have been able to identify 19 such communities. With the hon. Member's permission, I will circulate a list in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Mr. GallacherWill the Minister take immediate steps to get into touch with the local authorities which have the responsibility of supplying water and drainage to these villages, and see that everything possible is done to get them brought up to modern standards?
§ Mr. WestwoodThat is exactly what I have been doing now for the last three or four months with a view to solving this particular problem.
