Willisasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will reconstitute the Advisory Council on Education at an early date so that it may consider the proposed remit on library provision prior to the introduction of the proposed Measure for the consolidation of the local government law of Scotland.
§ Mr. WestwoodI am at present selecting the members of the reconstituted Council to take office on 1st January, 1947. I propose at once to give them a remit on library provision, but the re-introduction of the Local Government Consolidation Bill cannot await their report.
