HC Deb 01 August 1946 vol 426 cc1203-4
66. Mr. Teeling

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that Mr. Morris, of Princes Hotel, Hove, is storing furniture in a six-storey house, 41, Ventnor Villas, Hove; that six young families, who are being demobilised, have paid rent in advance to live in this house; and what steps he proposes to take to make sure that no priority for furniture storage over living accommodation can be claimed.

Mr. Bevan

I understand that 41, Ventnor Villas has been used for the storage of furniture removed from the Princes Hotel which has been held under requisition by the military. The hotel has now been released and the furniture will be transferred to the hotel annexe as soon as it can be made available. There is no priority for furniture storage over living accommodation.
