HC Deb 01 August 1946 vol 426 c1190
7. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Curtis Report on Child Adoption has now been received; and what action he proposes to take as a result of its recommendations.

Mr. Ede

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Twickenham (Mr. Keeling) on 25th July.

Sir T. Moore

In view of the fact that the committee has been sitting for about 18 months, is it not about time that we knew the intentions of the Government?

Mr. Ede

I gave an answer to that question only last week. The committee has spared no pains to expedite the report. I have been in correspondence with the chairman, and I expect to have the report in my hands about the time when the House resumes, if not earlier.
