§ The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (Mr. Ernest Bevin)The United States-Soviet Joint Commission set up in accordance with the decision of the Moscow Conference of December last has met in Seoul and is engaged, in consultation with Korean democratic parties and social bodies, in preparing recommendations for the establishment of a Provisional Korean Government. In accordance with the Moscow decision, these recommendations will in due course be presented for consideration to the United States, Soviet, Chinese and United Kingdom Governments. With regard to the second part of the Question, U.N.R.R.A. is authorised to provide assistance to Korea if and when it is invited to do so.
