§ Sir T. MooreIn view of these figures, and also in view of the fact that there are 1,900 families waiting to be rehoused in Ayr, does the hon. Gentleman realise that it will take some 20 years before the people of Ayr are properly housed?
§ Mr. BuchananSo far as Ayr is concerned, we are making not unreasonable progress, and when one compares it with the progress made by past Governments which had not the same difficulties, it is not the worst record we could have.

§ Mr. BuchananTwenty-four temporary houses were completed during the period in question and 26 more since 31st January, 1946. In addition, 228 permanent houses are under construction, and 96 more are in approved contracts.
