HC Deb 11 April 1946 vol 421 cc2064-5
3. Sir G. Fox

asked the Minister of Education what arrangements have been made for the payment of additional expenses for teachers both seconded and non-seconded as tutors to training colleges through taking up an appointment away from home; whether the same arrangements are made for tutors from His Majesty's Forces; and if, in the event of removal, removal expenses will be paid.

Miss Wilkinson

Tutors in such cases are eligible for payment of removal expenses. If they do not remove their families, but find accommodation for themselves only near the college, they are eligible for an allowance in respect of the extra cost of living away from home. It makes no difference whether or not a tutor is seconded or whether he is appointed on release from H.M. Forces.
