§ 19. Mrs. Middletonasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether all the West Indians serving in the R.A.F. have been made aware of the educational facilities now being offered to them by the Government and are given an opportunity of accepting these educational facilities before being repatriated to their respective countries.
Mr. Ivor ThomasAn Air Ministry Order is shortly being issued explaining how the Government schemes for further education and vocational training apply to members of the Royal Air Force who come from the Colonies. Special arrangements have, however, already been made to bring these training schemes to the notice of locally enlisted West Indian ground airmen.
§ Mr. DribergCan my hon. Friend give me an assurance that these facilities will be continued also after repatriation until the time of demobilisation?
Mr. ThomasI should need a note of that question, though I imagine it is one not for me but for the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
