HC Deb 10 April 1946 vol 421 cc1927-8
69. Mr. Keeling

asked the Minister of Food whether any decision has yet been reached as to the reduction of service rations.

Sir B. Smith

No decision has yet been reached on this subject, but discussions with the Service Departments are continuing.

Mr. Keeling

Does that mean that W.R.N.S., A.T.S. and W.A.A.Fs. are still getting more meat, bacon, margarine, sugar and jam than miners?

Sir B. Smith

I am afraid it does, but I am doing my best to make reductions.
