HC Deb 10 April 1946 vol 421 c1923
53. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Food if he will give an estimate for the next 12 months of the effect on the consumer's egg ration of the loss of milling offal and the failure to obtain supplies of South American maize for poultry feeding.

Sir B. Smith

I regret that I am not in a position to give this estimate. I hope, however, that the reduction by one-third in the basic ration of poultry food from 1st May next will have a less than proportionate effect on egg supplies.
