HC Deb 10 April 1946 vol 421 c1913
25. Mr. Percy Wells

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air why wet blankets are issued to recruits at the R.A.F. reception station at Padgate, Warrington; why these recruits are required to sleep in windowless huts; why an issue of kit is delayed for several days; and why they are forbidden to use the N.A.A.F.I. canteen.

Mr. Ivor Thomas

Padgate is one of the main R.A.F. recruits' centres. It has not been possible to confirm the existence of conditions there, as suggested by the Question, but my hon. Friend will look into the matter again if he is given details of any particular case.
