HC Deb 10 April 1946 vol 421 c1932
79. Mr. Martin Lindsay

asked the President of the Board of Trade when the hon. Member for Solihull can expect a reply to his letter of 11th February in respect of Messrs. Bryant and Tucker.

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade (Mr. Belcher)

I wrote to the hon. Member yesterday. I regret the delay which has occurred.

Mr. Lindsay

Is the hon. Gentleman aware that I received an answer to my letter of 11th February only this afternoon as a result of having placed this Question on the Order Paper? Does he not think it most regrettable that hon. Members should have to clutter up the Order Paper with Questions of this nature because they cannot get an answer to the troubles of their constituents under eight weeks?

Mr. Belcher

I have already expressed my regret to the hon. Gentleman.
