HC Deb 08 April 1946 vol 421 cc1624-5
29. Mr. Erroll

asked the Minister of Supply to what extent production of 22–28 s.w. ģ. steel sheet has been restricted; and what effect this is expected to have on the supply of domestic hardware.

31. Mr. Keelinģ

asked the Minister of Supply to what extent the production of steel sheets of guages 22, 24, 26 and 28 is being restricted; and what effect this will have on the supply of pots and pans.

Mr. Wilmot

No restrictions are imposed on the manufacture of steel sheets within the limits of the material and labour available for the purpose. We are doing all we can to increase supplies.

Mr. Erroll

Is the Minister aware there is an impression, nevertheless, that the Ministry is restricting the output of this particular gauge of sheeting, and will he look further into the matter?

Mr. Wilmot

I hope that the answer I have given will dispel that impression.
