§ 32. Mr. Thornton-Kemsleyasked the Minister of Supply what is the reason for the arrangement reached with the motor industry whereby more than 50 per cent. of the total export allocation of motor cars are to be exported during the early part of the year, with a corresponding increase in the proportion of motor cars available for the home market in the latter part of the year.
§ Mr. WilmotAn undertaking was given on behalf of the motor industry in December last that one-half of the production of private cars and one-third of the production of commercial vehicles would be exported in the first six months of 1946. The proportion of total production to be allocated to export, after then has not yet been discussed with the industry.
