HC Deb 04 April 1946 vol 421 c1385
40. Air-Commodore Harvey

asked the Postmaster-General when timetables of outgoing air-mail services will be advertised at post offices.

Mr. Burke

My Noble Friend hopes to be in a position to make a start with resuming the prewar practice of advertising latest posting times for air-mail correspondence within the next few months.

Air-Commodore Harvey

Will he try to bring this about before a few months have elapsed, because it will help traders to assist the export drive?

Mr. Burke

I appreciate that, but it is a question of advertising the time in London and coordinating the time in the provinces. Until the railways and inland transport are better, I am afraid that is not possible.
