HC Deb 03 April 1946 vol 421 c1224
10. Mrs. Ayrton Gould

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the French authorities have handed over Haj Amin el Husseini, as requested by His Majesty's Government, or what reason they have given for their refusal.

Mr. Bevin

The French Government have not so far agreed to this request. They have not officially given any reason for this, but I understand that certain difficulties have stood in the way of their compliance.

Mrs. Gould

May I ask my right hon. Friend whether we are pressing to have him handed over?

Mr. Bevin

We have kept it constantly before the French Government

Mr. Janner

In view of this man's very treacherous conduct, will the right hon. Gentleman continue to press for his being taken from France and being tried?

Mr. Bevin

I will keep it constantly before the French Government
