HC Deb 03 April 1946 vol 421 cc1238-9
32. Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air whether R.A.F. personnel posted for overseas duty to the Fleet Air Arm qualify on return to this country for the special leave of 14 days for every 12 months served overseas accorded to Fleet Air Arm personnel on disembarkation.

Mr. Strachey

Before they resume Air Force duty, members of the Royal Air Force who return from service abroad with the Fleet Air Arm are granted foreign service leave on the naval scale of seven days for each six months' overseas service.

Colonel Crosthwaite-Eyre

Will the hon. Gentleman see that this is promulgated, as it is not understood and there is a very considerable amount of hardship through these officers not knowing about it?

Mr. Strachey

If the hon. and gallant Gentleman can give me any case where it has not been understood I will certainly take it up.
