HC Deb 01 April 1946 vol 421 c829
70. Mr. Dumpleton

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he is aware that land owned by Mushroom Land Settlement, Limited, in Swaziland, is being offered for sale in London; and whether, in view of the insufficiency of land in Swaziland for native occupation, he will consider acquiring some of this land for that purpose.

The Under-Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs (Mr. Parker)

Considerable areas of private land, amounting in all to about 230,000 acres, have recently been acquired in Swaziland for occupation by the natives. This land has been bought with funds provided under the Colonial Development and Welfare Act.
