HC Deb 01 April 1946 vol 421 c817
40. Mr. Vernon Bartlett

asked the Minister of Supply his plans as to the future of the Royal Ordnance Factory at Bridgwater.

Mr. Wilmot

This factory will be retained permanently for Service requirements.

Mr. Bartlett

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the men in that factory are to be used? First of all they were told they were going to produce formaldehyde; then they were told they were not going to produce it. Can he give an assurance that this factory is to be retained, and that an adequate number of persons will have employment there?

Mr. Wilmot

it is not anticipated that the number of persons employed there at present will be reduced.
