Lieut.-Colonel Vaneasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster whether he will amend the present conditions of service for British personnel serving in Germany under the Commission of Control in order that they may be made more attractive to those who would wish to make their career in this most important service and who are at present discouraged from doing so by the uncertainty regarding its future.

In particular, appointments will be offered 1867 for a period of seven years, and compensation will be paid in the event of employment being terminated at an earlier date for reasons of redundancy.
